It’s been a while, and God knows I have no life, so I thought I’d be of some use around here and answer some questions for the Googlers and other itinerants.
Because being a MEDIA FORCE in Kansas for four long years (as of 22 June) requires it.
What follows are actual search strings used to reach this site, whether by intent or accident.
- what if you rub chili powder into your eye — For heaven’s sake, don’t rub your eyes or scratch (i.e., pick) your nose. Wash your hands with soap and water. If you’re handling raw peppers, you’re dealing with capsaicin, a sticky alkaloid resin. Dousing your hand in vinegar can stop the burning.
- is the law relating to mistake in a state of flux? — This is one of those malaprops like “very unique”. It’s physically impossible to be in a “state” of “flux”.
- who was the first man to make electricity — Electricity is a naturally-occuring phenomenon that has existed since the beginning of the universe. So, I guess the metaphysical answer to that question is The Man Upstairs™ Let’s give our Googler the benefit of a doubt, though, and assume he meant who was the first person to produce electricity. I guess that would be the first person who scuffed his feet across his bear rug and tapped the other cavemen for a prank.
- sick of my step kids — They probably figured out that their father married you because you’re 22 and your appendages seem not to be affected by gravity. Get over it, dear.
- loose asshole — Unlike most of the content of this site, I did not make that up.
- does evolution cause some impact on our sense of right and wrong? — Once in a great while, I’ll get profundities like this. My short answer is that it logically need not, but for many people it does. This brings a lot of other ideas to the fore that might just go in their own post.

I found the following in my log from June that did not make it into the monthly report: Someone, operating from the net.sa domain - .sa signifies Saudi Arabia - who found evolution with the Google search string bahrainian sex girl group.
I’d like to think that if I’d written anything relevant to this topic, I certainly would have remembered it.
I don’t know which is more disturbing - the search itself, or that I ranked third in it.
All this only proves that Saudi Arabian men are human too.

I realize I haven’t posted in a while. I was out sick on Friday and now I’m back. I really have nothing to say today so we’ll just have some links and reader contributions.
- Michael, an old friend and analyst for the State of Kansas terrorism response program, sends us a link to a collection of news items related to terrorism from the US Dept. of Homeland Security, updated daily.
- Reader Judy injects some humor into the marriage debate with a story from the Leavenworth (KS) Times about a transgender couple charged with falsifying information on a marriage license application.
- The State Senate of Kansas has passed a house bill for a concealed-carry law. Kansas is one of four states which does not have such a law. Note especially the Lawrence Journal-World’s bias in this quote (emphasis is mine): “Supporters of the bill contend that the measure would allow law-abiding citizens to protect themselves. Opponents predict it would lead to more gun-related violence.”
Got it? Supporters of this bill “contend”, as if to advance some crazy notion; while opponents of concealed-carry “predict”, as if some sage wisdom were driving their “principled” opposition.
Also, I will be updating the look and feel of this site. I still don’t have a proper host for this site (right now it’s hosted on Blogspot), so my ability to display neat things like graphics is limited.
