My renewed commitment to writing is off to an inauspicious start. I wanted to write about the comments of a certain sawed-off Archbishop of Canterbury, but Bill already did. I also wanted to write about the D.C. gun ban case before the Supreme Court (which I was wrong about — SCOTUS did grant cert, which scares me to death), but Bill already did. The Archbishop of Canterbury piece ends with a natural twenty and a critical hit that you really should read.

Maybe Bill should write this blog. I’m sure an increase in quality will result. There’s certainly nowhere to go but up.

I’m avoiding studying right now, and my blood pressure has almost declined to safe levels. To tell you the truth, I should study tonight (the topic: risk management strategies with forward contracts and options), but I just don’t have it in me.

Misty lights up William Burroughs, which, predictably, brings out the preening douchebags in Lawrence’s hipster set. Since it’s on Lawrence.com, that’s like “reverse edginess”.
El Borak cares. CAN’T YOU SEE THAT?!?
Katie does the job I hate the most in the world. Sadly, it does not involve lawn care.
Tony’s been on fire lately. He lights up fat girls, Kirsten Dunst, the Pitch (which is like picking on a kid in a wheelchair), and Mark Funkhouser/Wiccans.

That’s seventy-nine, if you’re keeping score at home. Speaking of keeping score, my NCAA bracket a few posts back is looking pretty good. Take note — there’s three X’s in that number:

Liebs shouts into the hurricane.
At the intersection of money, power, and faith, it’s usually faith which ends up bent over a sawhorse, wearing a ball gag, and crying.
John B. wrote two powerful pieces (here and here) on post-race politics. These are excellent and worth a read, even if you believe like me that too much is invested in “race narratives” for there to be any real change, short of a massive social upheaval.
