chiefs report: week 13

a thousand apologies, my fellow chiefs fans: i have been lackadaisical with the chiefs reports. last week the chiefs beat the raiders 27-24; the player of the game is PK morten andersen - the 43-year old kicker won the game with a last-second field goal; he’s still got it after all this time. yesterday, the chiefs beat the san diego chargers 28-24 to claim a share of the afc west division championship. the chiefs, with a win over the broncos next sunday, can take sole possession of the division crown. two more victories will ensure a first-round playoff bye. players of the game:

  • offensive: RB priest holmes - 31 carries for 162 yards and two TDs, 4 catches for 24 yards.
  • defensive: LB scott fujita - 9 tackles, and he seemed to be in on every defensive play. he’s getting enough attention that the cbs commentators are finally starting to pronounce his name correctly (it’s japanese, not hispanic).
  • special teams: WR dante hall - set the chiefs up nicely with 4 returns for 90 yards, including 1 for 45.
