architect

attention web community: ARCHITECT IS NOT A VERB, YOU DUMBASSES!!!!!!!

actually, that gets me to another thing that bothers me: overuse of the word “community”. when i worked for k-state’s computing and network services, their web people and my manager chuck (for whom i actually have fond memories) used to suggest replacing the word “university” with “university community” in all our web documents. is there any job the second phrase does that the first word doesn’t do? i didn’t think of it as a community - i wanted a rather large segment of it to leave me the hell alone.

anyway, i suppose the use of bad english and/or “soft language” to obscure meaning is what really bothers me. not many take pride in what they say these days, and not many say what they mean. i realize i don’t always use the king’s english, but i always give it my best effort.
