» INDC Bill is going to Iraq soon to embed with a Marine unit, and he’s talking about just how tough the Iranian problem will be to break through.

» The eeevil El Borak brings us one economist’s vent on the seemingly-inevitable minimum wage hike.

» More Publius Pundit, which I have been reading a lot these days: A requiem for Russia.

» Another name for this site: “j.d.’s young adulthood experience.”

  1. don’t you dare change the name of this blog!!!

  2. Here’s one. A recently elected man in Detroit will be sworn in on the Koran. This man is not Muslim but from the Nation of Islam. The New Black Panther Party supports this saying, “It’s just a book.” Where does this all end? If elected I wish to be sworn in on the phonebook. I will cite, “This represents all the people that I represent.”

  3. I’ll do a post on it later, but my position on the Ellison thing is that I don’t care about this story. Let him choose what book he wants to be sworn in on. What matters is that he takes his oath seriously. It would be silly for Ellison, who is in fact a Muslim, to swear on a “holy book” that holds little meaning for him. He chose to take the oath on the book that means the most to him.

I’m quite sure I’ll find his politics objectionable, but this barely budges the needle on my outrage-o-meter.
