- Governor (R): Jim Barnett — 36-26-20 over Canfield and Jennison with 75% of precincts reporting
- 3rd Congressional (R): Chuck Ahner — 52-33 over Scott Schwab with 99% in
- 4th Congressional (D): Too close to call, with Garth McGinn and Marty Mork tied for the lead.
- Kansas Secretary of State (D): Too close to call — David Haley over Robert Beattie 53-47 with 75% reporting
- Kansas Secretary of State (R): Current Secretary of State Ron Thornburgh, 72-28 over Kay O’Connor with 75% reporting
- Kansas Insurance Commissioner (R): Sandy Praeger over Eric Carter 58-42 with 75% in
- Board of Education, District 1 (D): Janet Waugh over Jesse Hall, 65-35, with 96% reporting
- Board of Education, District 3 (R): John Bacon over Harry McDonald, 51-39 with 83% reporting
- Board of Education, District 5 (R): Too close to call — Sally Cauble over Connie Morris 53-47 with 56% in
- Board of Education, District 7 (R): Ken Willard over Donna Viola 54-39 with 74% in
- Board of Education, District 9 (R): Jana Shaver over Brad Patzer, 60-40, with 82% in.
