monthly report: may 2006

I’m going to make some more marinara sauce now, and then I’ll have hopefully more focus than I’ve had in a few months. In the meantime, if this sort of thing interests you, you can peek inside my stat logs. If you don’t care, feel free to skip it.

Unique visitors: 1,966/40,811. Total visits: 8,575/119,368. Total page views: 25,813/437,688. Total hits: 36,945/690,397.

I’ve accounted for the differences in the numbers between what’s reported in my server logs and what’s on my Site Meter as far as unique visitors. There was a rather lengthy period of time where I didn’t have the meter up at all back in the Blogspot days, so that explains that; but I can’t explain the difference in page views. It must be that my server log’s definition and Site Meter’s definition are different. I don’t see how. My server guys told me to go ahead and trust my server logs as an accurate reflection of my human traffic (since in them, too, spambots and the like are kept out of that count); it just looks weird, because I don’t want to lie or even look like I’m lying about anything here.

Anyway, there’s a bit of inside baseball for you. Top five referrers (thanks as always):

  1. 3 O’Clock in the Morning
  2. Tony’s Kansas City
  3. Cup O’ Joel
  4. (Four-way tie) Jonathan, Josh, Don Surber, Daily Pundit
