breaking: taff gets 15 months
Link when I get it. Story broken by KMBZ.
Calling his offense a “well thought out plan”, a U.S District Court judge sentenced former Kansas Republican congressional candidate Adam Taff to 15 months in prison, and 3 years of supervised release.
Taff and partner John Myers pleaded guilty in November to wire fraud that occurred when Myers sold Taff his house in Lake Quivira for about $1 Million. Taff also pleaded guilty to misusing election money to obtain a mortgage loan.
Taff lost the 2004 primary for the GOP nomination in the third district to Kris Kobach. In 2002, he was the Republican nominee, losing to Democratic Representative Dennis Moore.

Once upon a time, Adam Taff got a bunch of young people excite and enthusiastic about politics. His out-of-nowhere race in 2002 was the closest thing that KS has had a to a true grassroots campaign in decades. I’m sure that Taff desserve the prison sentence. However, I cannot help but feel sorry for him. He’s a likable guy … and there aren’t many people like that in politics.
