If any one of the following events occurs, the Chiefs will be eliminated and the Pittsburgh Steelers will qualify for the playoffs:

1. The Chiefs lose to the 11-4 AFC North champion Cincinnati Bengals;
2. The Steelers win over the 5-10 Detroit Lions;
3. The San Diego Chargers win over the 12-3 AFC West champion Denver Broncos.

If the logical negative of the above statement is true, the Steelers will be eliminated and the Chiefs will qualify, facing the Bengals again in round 1.
