a conversation between the new guy and the veteran on the nobel prize awarding committee
New guy: “So, how are we going to stick it to the Americans this year, boss?”
Veteran: “I don’t know, Henrik. I think they’re on to us.” *
New guy: “I mean, seriously, we can’t give it to Yasser Arafat… How about Clinton?”
Veteran: “Nah, some of them still like him. I was thinking maybe Bono but…”
New guy: “Yeah, they like him too. What about Geldof? He’s pretty insufferable, right?”
Veteran: “Dude, have you ever even heard of the Boomtown Rats?”
New guy: “He did liberate a bunch of their money from them.”
Veteran: “True, but that was for a ‘good cause‘ ‘n shit. We really want to stick it to them.”
New guy: “Is Jimmah still alive?”
Veteran: “Who knows? Hey… wait a minute.”
New guy: “What is it?”
Veteran: “I got one. How about the guy who let Libya, North Korea, and Iran have nukes? That’ll stick it to them*. What’s his name?”
New guy: “El Baradei? Man, that’s genius…”

In the past eight years, they have failed to detect covert nuclear programmes in at least three countries – and failed to get diplomatic purchase on the problems when others have finally brought them to light. That does not amount to a contribution to world peace.
Amen.

What if they gave a prize for incompetence?
They would have to call it the Nobel Peace Prize… Far from promoting peace, ElBaradei and his agency’s incompetence actually make a violent resolution much more likely.

Nobel Prize Winners Usher in New Nuclear Power
Both the Nobel Commission and the IAEA were cringing with embarassment today as it was revealed that a new nuclear power has emerged: the IAEA. Shortly after the Nobel Commission announced that the IAEA would be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for their …
