I heard about this as I was falling asleep last night, around midnight: There is a BTK-related press conference set in Wichita for 10:00, or one hour from now as of this writing. Apparently, Wichita police have uncovered new evidence and are talking to a “person of interest”. The families of BTK’s victims have been notified, so this is sure to be big news.

The Wichita Eagle is reporting that the mayor of Wichita, the city police chief, the KBI director, and the Sedgewick County DA will all be at the news conference. The Eagle story also has details and eyewitness accounts of this police search.

I don’t get Wichita radio or TV here in Manhattan, so hopefully one of the Topeka stations will pick it up.
