I’ve been dying to post about this all day: the Video Game Music Archive!

These are MIDI versions of your favorite video game themes. Some of them are remarkably faithful to the originals. Here are five of my favorites, ordered by approximate age:

• The Legend of Zelda title theme (NES)
• Chrono Trigger theme (SNES)
• Final Fantasy VII: the death of Aeris (PS1)
• Theme from Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty (PS2)
• Opening theme from Final Fantasy X (PS2)

I’m sure you’ll find your favorites as well. And tell me that Sons of Liberty theme doesn’t make want to silence your pistol, put on a headband, and go take on a shadowy cabal.
