I stumbled across this account of the Berger investigation by someone apparently connected to the thing.

Take it for what it’s worth.

And guess who wrote some of these documents that Berger walked away with? If you guessed “Richard Clarke”, you were right.

UPDATE [22:15]: Berger has quit as a Kerry adviser. It doesn’t look to me like Kerry had absolutely anything to do with this, although it won’t be played that way by many.
